Endless Possibilities is more than a quirky and creative gallery. The warm,
brick-walled shop invites passersby to stop in and browse or purchase, but no
one enters or leaves without getting the message that saving tattered clothes
saves tattered lives.

Endless
Possibilities is an innovative recycling project that utilizes castoff clothing
items from Hotline’s fundraising thrift shops to weave new fabric that is
transformed into rugs, totes and other useful and attractive items. Weavers are
primarily volunteers who like the idea of “giving new life and a second chance”
to items that others may choose to pass over or pass by. Hotline’s mission is to
promote a safe and compassionate community. This mission is based on serving
people, and within that operating philosophy, there are no throw-aways. The
recycled weaving project is a nice echo of that mission.
Endless Possibilities also has therapeutic value for clients of the organization
who benefit from the safe and supportive environment and the opportunity to see
these fabric remnants reconstructed into something beautiful, useful and
entirely “new.” Much like transitions in people’s lives, this reassembly of
parts is healing and offers great affirmation when the final product is
displayed, admired or even sold, thus demonstrating worth. Reinvention,
do-overs, second chances and recovery are the messages imbedded in the Endless
Possibilities experience. Whenever possible, the Endless Possibilities staff
reach out to the community through classes, continuing education, school
programs and other identified groups to carry forth this positive message.
Endless Possibilities also offers soft job skill learning opportunities to those
entering the workforce. It is a useful venue for community service. It is a
gathering place where people can meet and chat or work quietly. It is a place
where everyone has value and is greeted and acknowledged. The standard against
which all decisions and actions in the Endless Possibilities program are weighed
is Hotline’s mission of “promoting a safe and compassionate community.”
